The Last Supper

Created circa 1500 in the workshop of the great Alsatian sculptor Nikolaus Haguenauer, this lindenwood relief depicts a studied play of glances among the characters gathered for the Last Supper of Christ, making it possible to identify the most important ones among them, their roles and relationships to Jesus.

The work will be part of an unprecedented confrontation of the four collections of the Fondation Gandur pour l’Art in Les voies du regard, an exhibition proposed to visitors of artgenève from 30 January to 3 February 2019.
