Support for the repertorial project of antique sales in France during the 19th century
Originating from auction sales of antique works in the 19th century, the aim of repertorial project is to analyse the biography (origin, path, price evolution) and the reception of antique objects (vases, statues, statuettes, wall paintings, etc.). It also examines the way archaeological collections were put together in France and abroad, what were the activities of large and small collectors, as well as those of institutions, dealers, and intermediaries.
