"Art nouveau and art industry" study day
In parallel with the exhibition L'École de Nancy. Art nouveau and art industry, presented at the Nancy Museum of Fine Arts from 19 May to 3 September 2018, the Association des Amis du Musée de l'École de Nancy and the Musée de l'École de Nancy are organising a study day on the theme « Art nouveau and art industry ».
On this occasion, Dr Fabienne Fravalo, curator of the decorative arts collection of the Fondation Gandur pour l'Art, will propose a study of the journal Art et Industrie (1909-1914). It was founded in Nancy to support and promote the creation of Lorraine and French industrial arts, in a context of regionalist revival and strong economic competition between France and Germany.
