Originating from a private donation, the Bible+Orient Museum of the University of Fribourg hosts a collection of more than 500 unpublished papyri, constituting a beautiful and rich illustration of daily life in Egypt during the Greco-Roman period. Some of these papyri arrived at the Museum in a very degraded state of conservation. This project, supported by the Fondation Gandur pour l’Art, aims to restore these papyri, to conserve, document, study and valorize them by way of publications, colloquia or exhibitions.
